Facial Surgery

You may be unhappy with age-related changes in your face, but don't feel that you have the time or need for a full face lift. Orlando facial plastic surgery specialist, Dr. Kenrick Spence specializes in minimally invasive facial procedures that can turn back the clock and help you maintain a more youthful appearance without the more extensive incisions and downtime involved with a full face lift.

Facial Surgery Procedures

At Hillcrest Aesthetic Institute, we educate our patients about these 4 components of facial surgery:

  • Correcting skin laxity
  • Replacing lost volume
  • Repositioning facial tissue
  • Addressing skin surface condition/appearance

We ask each of our patients to bring in older photos of themselves and we spend a good deal of time going over these photos and determining how the patient has aged. This discussion allows us to determine which components of facial aging need to be addressed and which procedure or procedures will best achieve the desired results.

S-Lift

Some people come to our practice in Orlando seeking a mini facelift. This procedure is also called an S-Lift, due to the smaller, "S" shaped incisions used. An S-Lift addresses sagging in the jaw line, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and can correct downward turning corners of the mouth. The incision begins just below the earlobe, then curves around behind the ear forming an "S." Through this small incision, Dr. Spence can tighten and reposition the deeper tissue layer, as well as the overlying skin. With a mini-facelift, patients can achieve a firmer, smoother appearance of the lower face without the longer recovery time of a full face lift.

Mini-Brow Lift

If you are concerned about eyebrows that have fallen from their youthful arch, along with deep frown lines and forehead furrows, you may be a good candidate for a mini brow lift. Many Orlando patients come to us because they feel that their lax forehead and drooping brows make them look older, tired, and even stern. With just a few small incisions hidden in the scalp, Dr. Spence can lift the brow into a soft, natural, youthful placement. By adding a small incision in the crease of the upper lid, he can release the muscles that pull the brow downward, giving a subtle lift to the arch of the brow. This procedure yields beautiful results with minimal incisions and a quick recovery.

Eyelid Surgery

At our practice in Orlando, eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is performed to alleviate the tired look that comes from excess, wrinkled, or puffy eyelid skin. For the upper eyelids, which may appear saggy or hooded, excess skin and bulging fat can be removed via an incision in the natural crease of the eyelid. Excess lower eyelid skin is removed through a small incision beneath the lash line. If the patient has bulging lower lids without excess skin, an incision can be made inside the lower eyelid, and the fat repositioned or removed. If wrinkles are present, Dr. Spence can treat this with a chemical peel or a laser treatment.

Fat Injections

One of the greatest factors affecting the appearance of your face as you age is the loss of volume that occurs with time. Young cheeks lose their fullness, skin begins to sag, lips become thinner and wrinkled, and hollows form beneath the eyes. Dermal fillers have become a popular choice for temporarily restoring lost volume and re-contouring the face. While there are many fillers available, Dr. Spence believes that the most effective, natural choice of filler is your own fat. Fat injections use fat that has been liposuctioned from your own body to add long-lasting volume to the cheeks, lips, or under eye hollows. All of our face lift patients receive fat grafting to restore lost volume and enhance their surgical results. Typically, a series of 2 or 3 treatments is needed to achieve the desired contours.

Lip Enhancement

As you age, your lips may lose volume, become wrinkled, and start to turn down at the corners. Dr. Spence performs several procedures for lip enhancement that can restore a more youthful look to your mouth with minimal downtime. Fat injections or dermal fillers are a very effective way to fill in wrinkles around the lips and fill out lip borders. To highlight the lip border, he can also perform a dermal fat graft, which involves using a small strip of fat and skin rather than an implant to enhance the lips. Chemical peels and lasers can also help to diminish wrinkles above the upper lip, with results that are significant and lasting.

At Hillcrest Aesthetic Institute, we understand that many of our patients want subtle changes that help them to look as young as they feel. These minimally invasive procedures can help you to achieve those natural but noticeable improvements. Dr. Spence is happy to help you determine which procedure or combination of treatments can help you to achieve the results you want with less discomfort and downtime.
